Peach Pit Quickfire Q&A

We caught up with Peach Pit frontman, Neil, just before their stellar sold-out show at O2 Forum Kentish Town… expect memes, Bible chat and a bit of Harry Styles.

LB: Who’s most likely to go on Naked Attraction?

PP: Mikey, he loves to get nakey.

Favourite thing to eat in London?

Kebab or chicken cottage.

And to drink?

Red Bull, tea and non-alcoholic beer before the show.

Best track to mosh to?

I’ve Seen Footage’ by Death Grips!

Favourite track of yours to play live?

Shampoo Bottles’, because everyone sings along.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Swimming at the beach, going to the park with friends, riding my bike, buying a moped to rip around the city, writing a new album :)

What’s something you learnt over lockdown?

Playing shows is the best thing in the world and when you can’t, life really sucks, but it’s also really easy to eat Oreos for breakfast lunch and dinner when nobody is around.

What book are you mostly like to tell someone you’ve read but you haven’t?

The Bible or Infinite Jest (I’ve started it like 5 times but it’s too hard for me), the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

What song is a real guilty pleasure of yours?

I don’t feel guilty about what music I like, but I love The Barenaked Ladies and I think some people would find that embarrassing. But I think they rule!

What do you listen to before you play a show ?

We don’t usually have music on backstage, we like to just veg out and shit talk…maybe look at some memes.

3 tracks you’d take to space ?

Golden Slumber’ (The Beatles), ‘Bathe With Me’ (Partyboi 69), ‘Frankie and Albert’ (Taj Mahal)

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

Timothy Chalamet or Harry Styles, I want to look sexy in the movie.

What decade would you want to be born in?

1960 for the flared pants and the smoking cigs inside.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

WINGS! I’m a Paul McCartney nut this year… and last year… and the year before that…

What do you listen to on the Last Bus home?

First, I’ll probably listen to the most recent voice note of whatever song I’m working on at the moment. Then once I’m bored with that I’ll put on RAM or Harvest or a Frank Ocean album. Last Bus home after a night alone feels very melancholy to me so I probably gotta listen to something sad.
